The showpiece that is the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy (Messier 83). A beautiful face-on spiral galaxy over 100,000 light years in diameter and 15 million light years away in the constellation Hydra. There's a lot of structure to this galaxy with well-defined spiral arms, dark dust lanes throughout, and a lot of nebulas (red/pink regions).
