The galaxy Centaurus A in the constellation Centaurus at about 11 million light years away. An excellent example of a lenticular galaxy with a mostly smooth ellipsoidal shape but also featuring a very pronounced dust belt lane that wraps around the galaxy and provides great detail. While not seen in this image, Centaurus A also strongly emits radio waves and x-rays from its relativistic jet that extend well beyond the central region of the galaxy. Represented in LRGB.
