The emission nebula Gum 51 (also RCW 105) in the constellation Norma. If you’re looking for a big, bright beauty, this isn’t it! It’s a very faint nebula dominated by the red hues of H-alpha but still had potential for an SHO Hubble palette albeit a very challenging task, which is why I dedicated 83hrs of data to this nebula alone so it could be done some justice. The result is fairly typical of my style! I've included a crop of the core region that I find particularly interesting.
Represented in SHO Hubble palette with RGB stars.
